Signs & Symptoms of UTI (Urinary Tract Infection)
Hi. Today I will talk about the different signs and symptoms of urinary tract infections. Now UTIs or UTIs are ubiquitous in the world today. Especially among the young age group who are sexually active or in the elderly age group, especially postmenopausal women or others at risk for kidney diseases such as diabetics and people taking immunosuppressive drugs. All of these people have a relatively increased incidence of urinary tract infections. Also, people who undergo urological procedures are predisposed to such infections. are predisposed to such infections. Thus, urinary tract infections involve conditions, either of the upper urinary tract, including the kidney or ureter, or lower urinary tract which are more common, including the bladder, or Coming to the signs and symptoms people face daily.
The first and most common sign is burning during urination. Anyone who has burning urination or illness should immediately get a urine routine and culture to assess the cause. this is the most common sign and it bothers people to various effects. Some people have mild irritation while others have extreme or severe pain and cannot perform the act of urination at all. The second most common symptom is an increased frequency of urination. The person must go there several times a day including the night until the urinary tract infection is treated. There is a tendency for incomplete evacuation. In other words, once the person goes and urinates, there is a tendency to urinate again. So anyone who has the signs should do a urine test. and also do an ultrasound to determine the level at which the urinary tract is involved. Another common symptom would be the presence of a fever. Typically, depending on the site concerned if it is the kidney, the fever is associated with chills and rigors and is generally high level reaching levels of 102 or 103 degrees Fahrenheit. For the lower urinary tract, it would be a lower degree of fever, but it is a main and important sign of urinary tract infection.
A person may experience abdominal pain usually suprapubic or lower abdominal pain indicating bladder involvement. It could also be flank pain when the kidneys are involved where the patient would complain of acute pain just below the ribs at the back. The presence of foul-smelling urine that brings a bad smell is another sign of a urinary tract infection. Normally, urine has a bad smell,
but if it's so bad you can't even get into the bathroom and it literally stinks, then the possibility of a urinary tract infection should be considered. Other than that, the presence of pus in the urine, the presence of blood in the urine, or a change in consistency where you find a thick viscous urine of whitish color, are all indicators of urinary tract involvement, and a urinary tract infection should be evaluated. Treatment for this infection should be taken at an early stage by visiting a relevant nephrologist to reduce the disease burden on the body.
